What's new and hot with women

  "Too posh to push"

Under new guidelines to be released this spring, pregnant women will find it easier to choose a Caesarean delivery, even if there is no medical reason for it. The Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada will recommend that doctors allow a woman to have an elective C-section provided she is informed of the risks and benefits, according to an article in the Canadian Medial Association Journal released March 2, 2004. Canada's C-section rate has risen steadily in recent years, to 21.4 per cent in 2001, according to the Canadian Centre for Health Information. In the GTA, the rate is near 23 per cent.

The Da Vinci Code

If you're looking for an alternative to "chicklit", then pick up The Da Vinci Code, an exhilarating new mystery by Dan Brown. A murder in the silent after-hour halls of the Louvre museum reveals a sinister plot to uncover a secret that has been protected by a clandestine society since the days of Christ. The victim is a high-ranking agent of this ancient society who, in the moments before his death, manages to leave gruesome clues at the scene that only his granddaughter, noted cryptographer Sophie Neveu, and Robert Langdon, a famed symbologist, can untangle.
