Programming


YTV's broadcast day is divided into several blocks including a preschool block during the day, with 30 hours of commercial-free programming per week; The Zone, Canada's #1 after school block; and Vortex, a Saturday morning animation-fest for the cereal crowd. Evenings, which are dedicated to family viewing, feature a lineup of drama, comedy and animation shows. Movies are on throughout the weekend with ZAPX (Sundays at 6pm), the new hosted family movie block, and 3 Hairy Thumbs Up (Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 4pm); and great Teen movies air every Saturday night at 9pm & midnight. Bionix features top programming for our teen anime fans Friday nights from 9pm until 2am.

Dayparts


A daypart is any timeblock of programming that has a live-hosted segment. Dayparts on YTV include The Zone, Vortex and ZAPX.

The Zone The Zone is Canada's #1 after school programming block for kids 6 -12. Every weekday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, hosts Sugar & Carlos bring kids the coolest contests, celebrity interviews, sketch comedy, and a daily opportunity to get interactive on-air and online.

Crunch! CRUNCH is the NEW hosted cartoon block, Saturday mornings from 7:00am to 12 noon, aimed at 6 to 12 year olds. CRUNCH incites kids to “Take Back Saturday Morning” and liberate them from their regular school week, filled with homework, chores, appointments and serious parent negotiations. With his playful style, host AJAY gets kids to just laugh and be a kid while enjoying their Saturday morning cartoons. Kids can unite in the name of fun 24/7 on the web, through CRUNCH message boards, blogs and more. Long Live CRUNCH!

ZAPX ZAPX (pronounced 'ZAP-PICS') is the hottest movie ticket in town, every Sunday night at 6:00pm. ZAPX brings viewers the best in family-friendly blockbuster movies. Parents and kids can play FANJAM, a movie trivia game with host Simon, YTV's ultimate "geek-chic" movie buff. Simon answers viewer emails, presents ZAPFACTS (movie trivia) and interviews today's hot young movie stars.
